  17.     As you all know (don't you?) you can assign logical volume/device 
  18. names to physical disk drive names such as:
  19.         assign Source: df0:
  20.         assign Destination: DF1:
  21.         diskcopy source: to destination:

  23. Useful?, yes, for some things.

  25. Did you know you can also assign logical volume/device names to sub-
  26. directories?  Such as:

  28.         assign from: df0:devs/printers
  29.         assign to: ram:
  30.         copy from: to to:
  31.  
  32. *BUT*  the *FUN* one you may not have noticed is that you can assign
  33. to FILE NAMES (read commands).  For example:

  35.         assign x: c:execute
  36.         assign e: c:ed
  37.         assign cc: df1:c/LC
  38.  
  39. then use them like:
  40.  
  41.         x: startup-sequence
  42.         e: my_text_file
  43.         cc: foo -i df1:include
  44.  
  45. Assigns are SYSTEM WIDE, NOT unique to each window.
